6kW Inverter Firmware Upgrade Guide - 03/27/2023

Included on this USB drive is the software needed to update the firmware for the Humless 6kW Inverter. 
There are 2 upgrades needed, one for the inverter, one for the screen of the inverter, both updates can be found in their respective folders. 
Also included is the installation software for SolarPower, an application for setting up the inverters' settings.

Step 1: Setting up for firmware update

It is important that the inverter is updated correctly, please follow these instructions to avoid firmware failure or "bricking". 

To prepare for the firmware update, we want to make sure the inverter will not go into standby while we update it. You can do this by having on of the following setups: 
 - In an on-grid setting with batteries, turn off the batteries and turn on the grid input to the inverter. The PV switch should remain off for this process. 
 - In an off-grid setting with batteries, the batteries should be on and the PV switch off. The Inverter will need to be in operating mode, showing 120 V output on the screen. You can achieve this by holding down the right-most button on the inverter until you see the output on the screen showing 120 V. Do NOT proceed with the updates until you see this output on the screen. 
 - In an on-grid setting without batteries, turn on the grid input and turn off the PV switch. 

Once the Inverter meets one of the conditions above, it is ready to start with the first update. 

Step 2: Updating Screen firmware

Connect the provided USB cable to the cable that comes with the Inverter. The USB should be connected to the Computer, and the RJ-45 end should be connected to the port labeled "RS-232" on the inverter. 

NOTE: If you've had Solar Power opened on this computer, you'll need to make sure it is closed completely before proceeding. You can do this by checking the application tray on the bottom right of your computer, if there's a blinking icon for Solarpower, simply right click it and close it. 

The first update we will do is the screen firmware. Open the folder titled "Infini-solar WP LV 6KW-Remote 14.15", and open the application named "Remote Panel_ReflashTool". When this is opened, you should see a COM_ number next to "Serial" in the top left. If you see that, simply press "Update MCU" and the update should begin. Keep your computer from going to sleep while this update is happening, the update should take about 15 minutes. 

Once the update is complete, close the window of the program, and we'll move on to the second update. 

Step 3: Updating Inverter Firmware

Open the folder titled "INFINI WP LV 6KW DSP 1.35", and open the application named "ReflashTool_Infini-solar". When this is opened, you should see a COM_ number next to "Serial" in the top left. If you see that, simply press "Update_Master"(Even if it's not the master inverter) and the update should begin. Keep your computer from going to sleep while this update is happening, the update should take about 15 minutes. 

Once the update is complete, close the update program, and your inverter should be ready to set the settings.
